氯化亞鐵化學式FeCl2，呈綠至黃色，可溶於水、乙醇和甲醇，為透明藍綠色單斜結晶，密度1.93。於空氣中會有部分氧化變為草綠色，在空氣中逐漸氧化成為氧化鐵，無水氯化亞鐵為黃綠色吸濕性晶體，溶於水後形成淺綠色溶液。

對各類污水、電鍍、染整廠廢水有明顯的處理效果，對廢水、污水中各類重金屬離子的去除率接近 100%，處理成本低。獨有的脫色能力，適用於染料、染料中間體及印染業的污水處理，能降低水處理成本。

Ferrous chloride, with the chemical formula FeCl₂, appears green to yellow and is soluble in water, ethanol, and methanol. It is a transparent blue-green monoclinic crystal with a density of 1.93. In air, it partially oxidizes to a grass-green color and gradually transforms into iron oxide. Anhydrous ferrous chloride is a yellow-green hygroscopic crystal that forms a light green solution when dissolved in water.

It is highly effective in treating various types of wastewater, including those from electroplating and dyeing industries. It can remove nearly 100% of heavy metal ions in wastewater and sewage at low treatment costs. With excellent decolorization capabilities, it is especially suitable for treating effluents from dyes, dye intermediates, and textile printing industries, thereby helping to reduce overall water treatment expenses.
