⏹︎ Product Features
Polyferric Sulfate (PFS) is an acidic polymeric compound with the molecular formula [Fe₂(OH)ₙ(SO₄)₃–n/2]ₘ, where n > 2 and m = f(n). In aqueous solution, it exists as a variety of polymeric iron complexes such as [Fe₂(OH)₃]³⁺, [Fe(H₂O)₆]³⁺, and [Fe₃(OH)₃]⁶⁺. These complexes have excellent coagulation properties and are prone to forming colloids. The molecules form a spatial polymeric structure of multinuclear complex ions.
Upon dissolution in water, PFS hydrolyzes rapidly, producing highly effective multinuclear hydroxy-complex cations such as Fe[Fe(OH)₂]ₙ(3+n)⁺. During the water purification process, it exhibits strong abilities to neutralize surface charges on suspended particles and to form bridging structures between them.
-
High Coagulation Efficiency
With a high concentration of trivalent iron (Fe³⁺) ions, PFS rapidly forms large amounts of flocs, effectively removing suspended solids, colloids, and organic matter.
-
Wide Applicable pH Range
Effective across a wide pH range (approximately 4–11), with optimal performance under mildly acidic to neutral conditions.
-
Strong Decolorization and Phosphorus Removal Capability
It shows excellent performance in decolorizing and removing phosphorus from dyeing wastewater, industrial effluent, and domestic sewage.
-
Relatively High Corrosiveness
Due to the presence of free acids, corrosion resistance is required for storage and handling equipment.
-
Fast Settling and Low Sludge Volume
The dense flocs settle quickly, reducing the cost and volume of sludge treatment.
-
Good Solubility and Easy to Use
Available in liquid or powder form, it dissolves quickly and does not easily clog equipment.
⏹︎ Applications
